The diversity of Chili en Argentina
Within the borders of Chile and Argentina, you will find a diversity of landscapes that is quite unique for our planet. In the north lies the impressive world of the tropical Atacama Desert and the Altiplano. About 3,000 kilometers to the south, the climate is, of course, completely different. So here you are in an area with a climate comparable to Norway and Sweden: Patagonia.
Patagonia
When the first Europeans traveled through the extreme south of South America some 200 years ago, they found an endless emptiness. Since then, the world has changed enormously. Patagonia, however, still possesses the same infinite vastness of nothingness. It is a world without borders where the wind never rests. Along with northern Alaska and Canada, this is “The Last Frontier” of the New World. It is one of the most pristine and wild natural areas on Earth, home to extraordinary animals such as guanacos, condors, and flamingos, and very diverse landscapes. In the west, you find the mountain range of the southern Andes. Steep mountains with glaciers, deep silent fjords, and rain-forests dominate the scenery here. The east, on the other hand, consists of chilly deserts and vast pampas with large sheep farms.
