Links to interesting sites
On this page, you’ll find a number of links to sites I find interesting or important. The web is home to thousands of photographers’ sites, often featuring stunning photography. However, there are so many sites that it’s easy to get lost in the sheer number of them. That’s why I haven’t included sites that exclusively feature photography, as you can easily find them yourself.

Buitenbeeld is a Dutch photo agency specializing in nature photography. The archive contains more than 250,000 photos by the best nature photographers mainly from the Netherlands. The parent company Pixfactory organizes all kinds of activities related to nature photography

Links to other sites
500px: This is one of the many “photo-sharing” sites. As usual, you encounter a lot of criticism about this site online. Criticism that is sometimes justified, but often also nonsense. I think 500px is one of the better sites for photo sharing. The site showcases a lot of good photography, and photos you post are viewed relatively often, even if you don’t have a huge base of followers. Finally, the site also features good articles about photography. You can find my photo stream here. here.
Flickr: needs little introduction, as it’s a very well-known photo-sharing site. I’m not particularly enthusiastic about Flickr. If you don’t have a large base of followers, for example from Instagram, the photos you post don’t get much attention. They quickly disappear into the vast majority of content. You can find my photo stream here here.
Unsplash: This is a lesser-known photo-sharing site. What’s unique about Unsplash is that photos on this site can be legally downloaded for personal use. I’ll share my experiences with Unsplash in this blog post. You can find my photostream on Unsplash here.
The luminous landscape: This site offers a wealth of relevant information about digital photography, ranging from technical aspects to ‘softer subjects’. The site used to be free, but now you have to pay €2 per month for full access.
DPreview: an American site with test reports and discussion forums.
The Digital Picture: a site with very in-depth camera and lens reviews, which I always consult when I want to buy new equipment.
Nature Photographers Network. This is a very comprehensive American site where photographers can showcase their work and get feedback from other photographers. In the past I’ve posted photos on the site but due time constraints I have stopped uploading images to the site.
